Ruins of St. Astvatsatsin Church

The St. Mariam Astvatsatsin Church (Holy Mother of Christ) was built in 16-17 centuries. Though the church has not been perfectly preserved as a glimpse of history, it is now a favorite place both for locals and tourists. The church itself is made of red touf (Armenian local stone) and features local cross – stones (khachkars) not found elsewhere in Armenia. The architecture of 16^th century is truly magnificent and attracts thousands of visitors every year. The church is located in the center of Ttudjur village, next to natural spring of mineral waters.
